Sadly, we are not the only people campaigning against the adverse impacts of intensive farming. Other groups of people and communities are fighting a growing number of powerful, influential and greedy business owners who are flouting planning and environmental controls to build, develop and run intensive farms at the expense of the countryside, animal welfare and people's health, well-being and prosperity.

The emissions to air from odour, ammonia and bio-aerosols can cause widespread damage to flora and fauna, on land and in water, in the areas around intensive farms. The effects of ammonia pollution on wildlife and human health are well-known. Public Health England are concerned about the potential health risks to people who live near intensive poultry units from fugitive emissions of bio-aerosols such as e-coli, salmonella, campylobacter, dander dust and fungi. Solid and liquid wastes from intensive farms pose particular risks to water courses and, depending on location, coastlines, threatening wildlife and water quality.

Below are links to campaigns of which we are aware and support in the current absence of a national group or coalition. Please contact us if you would like your campaign to be added to our list.
